It seems like millionaire skateboarders are not that rare after all. We already wrote about another skateboarder – legendary Tony Hawk who is a multimillionaire with massive net worth of $120 million and master of famous 900 trick, now it turns out that Tony is not the only skateboarder who got it all – do what he loves and money!
Some of you may know that Rob Dyrdek is not exclusively skateboarder, hence his amazing wealth must be the result of his other projects too but we guess nobody will argue that without skateboarding no one would even hear of Rob Dyrdek, because skateboarding is how it all started…
Similarly to Hawk, Dyrdek actually was a skateboard wunderkid, who started skateboarding at the age of 11 and already by the age of 12 he managed to secure his very first sponsorship. When little Rob was not skateboarding, he was thinking of all the tricks he will do – pure obsession, which seems to be a critical factor for success in almost any endeavor.
Later on Dyrdek will leave his first sponsor and help create two other companies that will become his sponsors too – Alien Workshop and Silver Trucks. His other big sponsors are DC shoes and Monster Energy (right, the one you drink). He has also partnered with Chevrolet for their launch of their new Chevy Sonic for which he performed a 360 degree rotation of the vehicle as can be seen in this video.
Dyrdek set twenty-one separate Guinness World records and it only seems as logical progression that someone like him will end up on television doing shows and playing in films. Street Dreams, On Video Skate, Ridiculousness, Rob & Big and of course Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory all credit their success to Rob Dyrdek, but that’s not all…
Rob is also an entrepreneur! His ventures include hip-hop record label, skate shop, Wild Grinders cartoon, partnerships with various brands and many more. And just like many other celebrities mentioned here Rob Dyrdek is into charity. His Rob Dyrdek Foundation is dedicated to building official skate parks where skateboarders can skate without fear of getting in trouble.
