Jessica Simpson Net Worth is $200 Million (as of 2019)
Jessica Simpson is a household name, but it wasn’t always that way. This shy and unassuming girl born July 10, 1980 in Texas, has risen to fame perhaps too quickly. That, which goes up, must come down. Being targeted for weight issues and her personal life, which has been anything but personal, she has finally found peace as a mother and a wife. Not just a singer, or a songwriter, her talents include acting and being the star of a reality television show. Known as the ditzy blond who said things that made the audience wonder if there was anything going on in that brain of hers, you have to wonder if it was all an act. If it was, it definitely paid off big time.

Jessica Simpson began her career as a singer with the debut of her first single “I Wanna Love You Forever” which hit the Billboards with a splash. The time was just ripe for a young, bodacious, blond to make a splash on the music scene. Not a one hit wonder, she followed her first single with many others that told her audience that she was in it for real. Soon after achieving fame, she met and dated Nick Lachey. Also a young rising star, the two of them were a paparazzi’s dream. The media couldn’t get enough of their budding young romance, nor could adoring fans.
Not a likely candidate for bringing up fame, her father was a minister and her mother a psychologist. Soon after her star began to rise, the announcement was made that she was engaged to her sweetheart and America’s heartthrob Nick Lachey. Along with the announcement of their engagement was the confirmation that they would both star in a reality television series about their lives starting out as newlyweds. Airing on MTV, the show was an instant success. Bearing all was something that Jessica was used to doing.
Trying her hand as an actress, she took on the role of Daisy Duke in the Dukes of Hazard, with the only thing saving her poor acting skills being the trademark “daisy dukes” that showed off her physique. The hit television show starring her and Nick quickly fizzled out, and with lackluster sales of her proceeding recordings, Nick and Jessica started out on a new venture of the Nick and Jessica Variety hour. It was a spin-off of the old Sonny and Cher Show, a variety show centered around their relationship. It didn’t receive the same following, or acclaim as their previous reality showed, and that seemed to be the turning point for both of them. As their on-screen marriage began to crumble, so did their off-screen life. Jessica being labeled as the dumb blond, was soon the target of many jokes and brushed aside.
After pretty much having the bottom fall out on her career, she made a decision to return to her roots, and began down the path to a country music career. She quickly made it back to the top of the charts and attracted a whole new audience. Not as dumb as we all thought, she has been one of the most versatile entertainers of our time. Being a good sport, she never took the criticism to heart. Landing on her feet is what this little Texan does best.
