Already at the age of 16 Ryan won internship at WSTR FM radio station and was trained in the many aspects of radio. His very first broadcast was unexpected: a regular DJ got sicked and Ryan was asked to replace him. This put put the beginning of his broadcasting career. He went on to study journalism but left the university at the age of 19 and moved to Hollywood to seek for better opportunities.
While in Los Angeles, Seacrest began his television career. In mid 1990s he hosted
